Appointments at AMC during COVID-19

In order to comply with regulations we have had to implement changes to keep both patients and staff safe and your surgery COVID free.  It is important you read the information below on what to expect when you arrive and for the duration of your appointment.  This information is updated regularly so we would be grateful if you could read again on the day of your appointment.

You need to be COVID free

In light of the increase in COVID we would ask that if you have (or develop any) symptoms of COVID, been in contact with anyone with symptoms, or returned from Denmark in the last 14 days , that you do not attend the surgery but contact us for advice. For up to date government advice on symptoms, isolating and testing, see https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Access

The access to the surgery is changing to save patients having to wait in the marquee during winter. If you are travelling in your own vehicle to us and have a mobile number, please wait in your car and we will call you on that number when the Clinician is ready.  You will then be met in the main entrance porch by the Clinician.

If you are travelling in your own vehicle but do not have a mobile number, please wait in your vehicle until the time of the appointment.  Then make your way to the entrance porch and contact reception via the intercom.  You will then be admitted to the surgery.

If you do not have a vehicle to wait in, then attend your appointment at the time it is booked.  Please do not arrive early.  Make your way to the entrance porch and we will admit you to the surgery.

We have limited waiting space in the waiting room, therefore we may not be able to admit you if we already have the maximum number of patients waiting.  Please attend your appointment alone unless a guardian/carer is essential.  Reception and Dispensary desks will not be open for other purposes.  Please contact us by telephone if you have any queries.

Please ensure we have your correct contact mobile and that if you attend you:

  • Wear your facemask, or bring your exemption certificate if applicable.
  • Use our hands free equipment to check your temperature on arrival.
  • Practice social distancing at all times when on the surgery premises.

Sanitiser is available throughout the building and we would be grateful if you could use this on arrival and before you leave.

We thank you for your help and co-operation when attending the surgery to keep it COVID free and a safe place to be for both patients and staff.
