The average pay for GPs working in Abbottswood Surgery in the last financial yearwas £55008 before tax and national insurance. This is for 2 full time GP,5 part timeGPs and 0 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.)
We have two Advanced Nurse Practitioners who provide a triage service and assist the GP’s in seeing patients – please speak to Reception to book at appointment.
The Nursing Team offer a range of services:
Chronic Disease Management including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory and mental health conditions and epilepsy.
In addition to:
Vaccinations, childhood immunisations, wound care and treatment, ear syringing, family planning, cervical smears and healthy lifestyle advice.

Nursing assistants offer:
Phlebotomy (blood samples), urine samples, ECGs, blood pressure readings, new patient checks, provide patient care during minor surgery and assist the nursing team in a range of tasks.

We have an Administrative Team which includes:
Three medical secretaries who are available to help with any queries you may have when your GP refers you to hospital, or other services such as physiotherapy.
An IT Manager, IT Support Administrator, Quality Officer and Administrative Staff.
Louise Cattle is our Front of House Manager and Sue Clifton is Senior Receptionist, they work with a team of 8 Receptionists.
A Clinical Pharmacist holds a prescribing qualification and supports the GP and Dispensary Team. They can deal with medicine queries that you may have. Our Receptionists may signpost you to our Clinical Pharmacist if they feel they can deal with your query.
NHS Worcestershire Health & Care Trust employ District Nurses who work as part of the Abbottswood Team from our building.
NHS Worcestershire Health & Care Trust employ Health Visitors who work as part of the Starting Well in Worcestershire Team and are responsible for Abbottswood Medical Centre patients. Health Visitors are based at Pershore Medical Practice and can be contacted on 01386 502068.A Health Visitor telephone advisory service is also available. If your child is under 5 years old and you need advice on their health and development e.g. feeding, behaviour and constipation, contact 0300 123 9551 Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.If your baby/child is unwell, you should seek medical advice from: GP or NHS 111If life threatening or an emergency, contact: A&E or 999
Health visitor for under 5's.
SOCIAL WORKER Is employed by Worcestershire County Council and part of the Neighbourhood Team that covers Abbottswood.
COUNSELLOR Counselling is available via referral from your GP.
Our Dispensary Manager Michelle Stewart is registered with the GPhC and works with a longstanding team of qualified dispensers and support staff including a delivery driver.
