The NHS App gives patients quick, convenient access to health services online, making it easier to manage appointments, order prescriptions, view records and take control of their healthcare. You can use the NHS App to manage your healthcare using a phone, tablet or computer.
How to setup the NHS App
When you download The NHS App for the first time you will need a few things to get started, these are:
- Your own email address.
- A mobile number or landline number.
- Date of birth
- Postcode
- NHS number (if known)
- 2 forms of ID.
Setting up an account via the NHS App will give you basic access to your records. If you want full access you will need to apply for it on our online access page.

The NHS App offers a variety of essential healthcare services to users, providing a convienient platform to manage your health all in one place. Services available in the app include:

- Find out what to do when you need help urgently.
- Book and manage appointments at your GP surgery.

- View your GP medical record securely.
- Register to be an organ donor.

The NHS have released some NHS App walkthrough videos that provide comprehensive guides to help users navigate and utilise the various features the app has to offer.
